Luka Chuppi Movie Review: Luka Chuppi’ is a situational comedy from the word go. And the situation in question is live-in relationships. What starts as a news story for a local reporter Guddu, turns into his own love story with hilarious complications. But peddling along are a host of other societal issues like misogyny, gender inequality, caste bias and moral policing that are tackled in a funny and harmless way. However, there is hardly a dull moment in the film that never takes itself too seriously.
As a debutante, executive Laxman Utekar completes a fine employment of tossing in a pack of peculiar characters in abnormal circumstances. Beginning with the film’s legend Kartik Aaryan, who looks unreasonably cleaned for his community character, however en route, you before long begin pulling for him. Regardless of whether he is covering a story or running for spread himself – Kartik radiates a charming appeal that is relatable. Likewise for Kriti. With all her attractiveness and balance, she depicts the character of a young lady nearby without being over-the-top. Be that as it may, the clever thing is, the two emerge as the main beautiful couple in the whole town, what with the ideal pinch of cosmetics and haircut consistently. Their science isn’t actually snapping, however very accommodating, which functions admirably for the story.
While Aparshakti Khurana plays the steady companion Abbas satisfactorily well, there is a truly detectable absence of enough comic punches in his exchanges. Pankaj Tripathi, a normal in this type, is to a great extent squandered in a job that could have been scratched out unquestionably more extravagantly. Whatever remains of the performers, motivate sufficient opportunity to contribute liberally. Be it the unconventional individuals from Guddu’s joint family or Rashmi’s lawmaker father, who utilizes his clout to rally against immaterial issues.
However, what truly makes ‘Luka Chuppi’ an engaging watch is the nuanced composing by Rohan Ghoge and its execution. The main half is quick and pressed with amusing minutes that end in a capricious curve. The second half as well, is set apart by a significant number roar with laughter minutes. Eventually, the silliness ends up dull, however it’s the short run-time that acts the hero. Film’s two most well known melodies (Coca-Cola and Poster) are tossed in toward the end, amid the credit roll.
In general, ‘Luka Chuppi’ is a fun ride that never gets excessively sermonizing or awkward for the family group of onlookers. It’s a perfect performer with a message that is not excessively noisy, however clear, without a doubt.
